It's Memorial Day. A day our country has set aside for us to remember those men and women who have sacrificed their lives so that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms this country was founded upon. It's also a day on which we should remember the families who lost those men and women – they also paid a high price for our freedom. Lastly, let's not forget those men and women who are serving today in almost every foreign country, in combat zones, and also here at home. They, too, are sacrificing time with their families, their safety, and sometimes even the joy of the very freedoms they are defending by serving us, their fellow Americans.
Whatever else you do today, a picnic with friends and family; time at the pool; working or just hanging out at home, please take a moment and thank God for our military and their families.
Proud of our son currently serving in Korea.
Until the next time . . .
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a great Memorial Day Weekend. My aunt and cousin came down to NC and spent the weekend with us. We really enjoyed their company.
ReplyDeleteWe took them to New Bern to walk around the historic homes. Do you remember New Bern?
Can't wait to see you guys in July!
