Yes, I was spontaneous! :) Well, it didn't take a whole lot to make this decision. There was rain in the forecast for this evening and tomorrow morning in LA, so we decided to take off a day early so we wouldn't have to deal with that on a travel day.
Left LA a few minutes before 10am and started our long trip to Pahrump, NV. GPS said it would take more than six hours to get to the SKP co-op. That is a very long day for us 'cause the six hours is just driving time - doesn't take into consideration food and potty stops. But, we figured what the heck; if Randy got tired we'd do an overnighter in a parking lot somewhere.
About the midway point I called the SKP park to be sure they'd have room for us. They did, but the office closes at 4pm, so we'd have to dry camp for the night. No big deal, that's what we'd be doing if we were in a WalMart.
We got to the park about 5:30pm. Robert, the assistant manager walked over to greet us and let us know where to dry camp. Very nice fellow. So, we're here and ready to relax for the rest of the evening. The office opens at 8am, and we'll get a site then.
I'll share a few pictures from today's trip tomorrow. No electric tonight! Until the next time . . .
