Colorado!

We left Tuba City, AZ about 8:30 this morning. We had a four hour drive ahead of us to Mancos, Colorado which is the home of Mesa Verde National Park.

A friend asked me about the name "Tuba City" so I looked it up on Wikipedia. "Tuba City" is English for the Navajo "
Tó Naneesdizí." It is located in the Navajo Indian Reservation and is the reservation's largest community. The name also honors Tuuvi, a Hopi headman. The Navajo name of the town translates as "tangled waters" and most likely refers to the many springs that run underground in the area.

Ginger, I hope that satisfied your curiosity! :)

We had a lovely drive - the weather was perfect for traveling, mid 70s. I took several pictures along the way.

We reached our destination, A & A RV Park a little after 1pm. The view out of our back window. Gorgeous, huh?

We are settled in and ready for our adventures. This stop is all about Randy. This is one of the few places he specifically wanted to see during this trip. So, he's checking out all the things to do and when to do them. We'll also catch up with Russ & Pat while we're here 'cause they are working in the area for the next week. We're excited we get to spend time with them again!

I'm sure we'll have lots to share with you over the next few days. Until the next time . . .
