Our lives have been so enriched by the people we have met since we've been on the road. We have always been blessed with good friends and I figured that we'd be on our own while traveling and then catch up with friends when we'd go home. Boy, was I wrong! In the five and a half years we've been on the road, we have met so many fabulous people and several of them have become close friends. I am so grateful for the life God has given me.
We started our day with music. Jam 'N' Folks (my Tuesday group) played for the senior center in Orange Beach, which is about 40 minutes southeast of us. Thirty-five of us showed up to perform an hour show. The audience was wonderful and we had a great time.

After the gig, Dick & Pat and Randy & I went in search of lunch. Actually, we knew where we were going - Calypso Joe's. Dick & Pat had been there once last year, liked it and wanted to share it with us. The draw for this restaurant is their $5.99 buffet which is only offered on Fridays. Hey! That worked for us 'cause today is Friday! ;) And when I can feed Randy for $5.99, I'm there! :) The food was good, too.The restaurant is located at the Orange Beach Marina which is home to many, many boats. Large boats, too. And there are many palm trees that line the docks. I love palm trees!
Once we got home, we had just a couple of hours or so before we were to go back out for another meal with more friends. So, we relaxed in the recliners; and I tried to nap while Randy watched the USA vs. Finland hockey game. I did get about 15 minutes of sleep and then decided I'd watched the American Idol results show up in the bedroom.
At 4:30pm, it was time for our next restaurant excursion. Twelve of us; Darrell & Judy, Mike & Gerri, Mike & Peggy, Glenn & Sylvia, Jesse & Ginger, and us were meeting at Big Daddy's for dinner. Not that we need a reason to go to Big Daddy's, but we actually had a specific reason for this particular gathering. Jesse & Ginger had come to the Plantation for just one night on their way to Maryland. Randy & I had not yet met Jesse & Ginger, but I have followed their blog almost from the beginning of their travels.
The gang
Needless to say (but, I'll say it anyway!), we had a fabulous time! Since there were twelve of us, we were seated at a long table. Randy & I sat closest to Mike & Peggy and Glenn and we had a good time sharing stories with them. We just met Mike & Peggy and Glenn & Sylvia this winter, so it was fun getting to know them better. Mike & Peggy will be part of the Maine Event this summer when ten of us meet in Maine for a week. All too soon it was time to say good night. I was so disappointed when I found out that Jesse & Ginger were only staying for one night. They are fellow Marylanders and it would have been fun to talk with them about familiar places. But, I'm sure we'll cross paths again down the road. I'm grateful that we got this evening, though!
This day personified the RVing lifestyle - enjoying life to the fullest, surrounded by people you love. Not bad, not bad at all.
Until the next time . . .
Amen!! :)
