Back in Arizona

We had a long travel day ahead of us once again. These next few travel days will be like this. We don't like to travel five or six hours, but it seems silly to add a travel day just to make them three hours. So, we've been sucking it up and just putting in longer days.

We left Pahrump about 8:50 this morning. Clear skies promised a good day and that's what we had. We got to the Arizona state line about 1pm and then stopped in Kingman for lunch. Well, actually, breakfast as we stopped at our 70th Cracker Barrel. Always a good meal to be had at CB!

After leaving CB, we had just under two hours left to travel. They went fairly quickly and we pulled into Canyon Gateway RV Park about 4:30pm. We got set up in about an hour and settled in.

Then, I looked at the weather forecast. UGH! Tonight and tomorrow night the lows will be in the 30s. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50s and partly cloudy. Wednesday's forecast is 30% chance for SNOW!! Yes, SNOW! Not liking this forecast at all. But, we've had phenomenal weather during this trip, so I shouldn't complain. I shouldn't, but I am!

We're going to the Grand Canyon tomorrow since it seems that's the best day we're going to have. We were going to drive down to Sedona on Wednesday, but that looks like it's not going to happen. Guess we'll see.

But, for now, we're cozy in the rig and watching TV. And I'm grateful for that. Until the next time . . .

  1. We visited the Grand Canyon in January. It was cold, but the view made up for the cold! I hope you get a chance to walk out on the glass bridge. It's a neat experience. The only downside is they don't allow cameras on the bridge. Of course they have a photographer out there to help you out for $30! Have fun!
