I'm Ready for My Close-up, Mr. DeMille!

Well, as ready as I'll ever be! :)

Got on the road about 9am for our drive to Los Angeles, less than 3 hours away. Once again, God blessed us with an easy trip. The traffic through LA wasn't too bad considering we went through downtown during lunch hour.

Once the highway signs said "Los Angeles," my head started swiveling like Linda Blair! I didn't want to miss anything!

Unfortunately, all I really saw were the street and highway signs announcing places I've heard of - no real landmarks. Although, I did see the Capitol Records building which is completely round.

We pulled into Walnut RV Park around noon or so. It's an older park right smack in the middle of a residential area. Very strange. After a bit of manuevering, we were parked and setting up. It took a bit longer to set up than usual because the site isn't level, so Randy had to do a bit more with leveling blocks and such.

After Randy was all done outside, he came in and announced he was ready for food. I offered to make something, but he suggested we hit the In N Out Burger just down the street. We'd both heard it was supposed to be the best burger joint ever. Well, we disagree - Checkers is far better. But, it was food and it was good. The funniest thing was their menu; it had to be the shortest menu I've seen in a fast food place in a long time. There were four burger options, drinks, and fries. That's it. They had just three combo meals. Made it easy to order! :)

Tomorrow we pick up my sister at LAX and then it's fun, fun, fun, 'til Daddy takes the T-bird away. :) Who knows what trouble we'll get into?!?!! Lins asked if she'd see us on the news; I told her she just might!

Until the next time . . .

  1. I LOVE in n out!!! I'm sorry you guys didn't think it stood up to its reputation. That has got to be my favorite burger place ever and I wish they would build some on the east coast!!
