Las Vegas

Not that anyone will be surprised, but it was confirmed this evening that we are NOT Vegas people. :) Too many cars, people, and chaos. We got there about 4:30 and found stop and go traffic everywhere.

Driving in to Las Vegas
Looking for a place to park was first on the agenda. We finally decided to see if we could park at Bellagio. We could! They had a parking garage we could fit in and it didn't cost anything - what a deal! We went into the hotel and, wow, was it gorgeous.

Looking out from Bellagio
We set off up the strip to see everything we could. Now, it wasn't as crazy-full of people as New York City was, but still there were enough. So, we just strolled along looking at the various casinos and doing a little people-watching as we went.

Finally, we figured we'd seen enough and walked back to Bellagio to throw a few dollars in the slots (me) and get some dinner.

No luck at the slots, of course. :) But, we had a marvelous dinner at Cafe Bellagio. I kept waiting for the Ocean's Eleven guys to walk through. :)

After dinner we drove up The Strip to find Fremont Street. It's a pretty good ways up the road from all the big casinos and hotels. Definitely not in the upscale part of town. We just drove through and then went to the World's Largest Gift Shop to pick up a couple of souvenirs. Then it was time to come home.

I guess we're just not exciting folks. The glitz and the crowds aren't for us. But, we've now been to Vegas and can check it off the "seen that" list. ;) Tomorrow's Hoover Dam; supposed to be fantastic. I'll let you know!

Until the next time . . .

You would have liked Vegas A LOT if the guys from Ocean's 11 had walked through. LOL!
