Another Leak?? Maybe, Maybe Not

I had several things planned for today. Paperwork type things, but still, they needed to be done. Somehow only a couple of them got done.

First, Randy tells me we've got another leak. UGH!! Really?? REALLY???? What? One by one the clamps are going to go? I realize the rig is seven years old and things are going to start needing repair, but c'mon! Every couple of days a new leak? Anyway, at least it's something Randy can fix. It's just not a comfortable place to work in.

Then, Kevin asked me to spend some time with the dogs this morning because Zoe, the littlest one seems to be having trouble getting used to her new surroundings. Okay, I go over and play with the dogs for a bit.

Back at our rig, I try to do some of the paperwork I'd planned to do. Then, the electricity goes out. Randy's stuffed in the storage area checking on the leak, so I go out and check the power. Seems like everything's okay there, so I ask Randy to check. All of a sudden, the electricity comes back on.

Less than two minutes later, it's out again. I call the office to see if the campground is having electrical problems. Of course, the answer is nothing has been reported, but the owner will come down and check it out. In less than a minute after I hang up, the electricity comes back on. We go through this one more time – off, then on.

The owner comes down and checks out the shore power, but doesn't see anything wrong. Our surge protector said there was the voltage went too high and that's why it shut the power off. Well, good to know it works. Thankfully, after the last off/on, the power has stayed on the rest of the day. Guess it was a blip in the system. Grateful for the surge protector doing its job!

By now it's lunch time and Kevin's home for lunch. Also, Randy discovers the leak has stopped. What the heck? So, he was spared having to repair something that doesn't seem to need repairing. He's gonna keep an eye on it, though.

The rest of the day was uneventful. YAY!! Now, that's what I'm talkin' about. :)

Until the next time . . .

Movin' Pretty Good for 135 Years Old!

Today is our dog, Blackie's, birthday. He is 15 years old, which is 135 years old in dog years. We got him from the pound when he was just 8 weeks old; he was an early birthday present for Kevin's ninth birthday. Blackie has been been a great dog, perfect for traveling as he is laid back and nothing really bothers him.

DSCN8214

So, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Blackie!

More good news – Randy was able to fix the leak with no problem. Kevin helped, too, once he got home from work. These last two leaks have been connections that have gone bad. We're figuring that each one is going to go; it's just a matter of when. Guess ya gotta expect that in a seven year old rig. So, I'm not complaining. The rig has had very few problems, thank God!

Not much going on. We're looking at some good weather over the next couple of days, so I guess I'll just have to get outside and give my lounge chair some attention. :)

Until the next time . . .

Really?????

Randy & I were submerged in the minutia of life today. Me at the laundramat and Randy at the RV, cleaning. I did get to Curves first, though. :)

I gotta say I have not missed doing Kevin's laundry. How can one person add two loads of laundry to the mix? Of course, I hadn't done laundry for almost two weeks so that made for more loads as well. And yes, I know I don't have to do Kevin's laundry, but I'm kinda enjoying spoiling him a bit.

Anyway, I spent a couple of hours doing laundry while Randy was home getting rid of several weeks of dog hair. :)

For those of you who don't know Randy or haven't heard of his cleaning, I want to tell you that he is probably the only person who can take more than fours to clean a 400 square foot RV and still not be done! I got home about 1pm and he had just finished the living area. That was all! He is so dang thorough in his cleaning. I told him that I better die first 'cause if not, this poor RV will never be as clean as he gets it!

And yes, I know. I am a VERY lucky woman!! :)

Of course, the day has to end with one more “Are you kidding me????” moment. Randy found another leak. UGH!!!! He's pretty sure he knows where it is, he just has to get to it.

Yeah, the fun just never stops.

Until the next time . . .

Last Weekend of the Month

It seems like this month has crawled by; not sure why 'cause we've been busy for most of it. I guess there's been so much anticipation of things happening that the days couldn't pass quickly enough. Now, all of a sudden, we're looking at the end of the month in just a few days. Wonder what October will bring?

As crazy as most of the month was, these past few days have been filled with a lot of do-nothingness. Since Kevin has been using our truck while his is in the shop, we've been “stranded” at the RV. And up until yesterday, that was okay. But, by yesterday I had had enough of nothing. :) Now, I can be as lazy as they come (just ask my mom!), but after a few days, I gotta get out and do something.

Yesterday I got outside and sat in my lounge chair and read. The weather was just perfect.

This morning Randy & I went off to church while Kevin was going to the storage unit to begin emptying it. He picked us up after church and I saw that there was nothing in the bed of the truck! Turns out the storage unit didn't open until noon. Oh, well. What can you do with an hour or so? We had breakfast at Cracker Barrel, what else! :) After that, off we went to the storage unit to fill the bed of the truck.

Then, it was on to WalMart to pick up a few items to get us through the week until we can make our first-of-the-month grocery run. Kev also needed some things.

From WalMart we headed home. Randy & Kevin unloaded the truck and then headed back to storage to pick up the rest of the stuff. They were able to get it all in that second run. Then, the fun started – finding places for everything! :) I went over for a bit to put clothes away in drawers and the closet. That boy has a LOT of Army stuff. Whew.

About a quarter to six, I decided it was time to get some dinner started. I left Kevin to continue his unpacking and went home. When it was ready, Kev came down to eat with us. We didn't have a big dinner, just a taco dip that we really love, but it was enough to fill us up. :)

Dinner's over, Kev's gone back home, and Randy & I are settled in for the night. Tomorrow promises to be busy; I'm going to take Kev to work, then hit Curves and then go to the laundramat and tackle the mountain of laundry we've amassed. Fun.

Until the next time . . .

I Remember This . . .

. . it's the quiet of only having TWO adults and ONE dog living in our RV! ;) Yes, Kevin has set up his RV here at the campground and has moved himself and the dogs into it. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have enjoyed having Kevin living with us for the past few weeks; being able to support him as he gets back on his feet. I haven't even minded the dogs being here. But, it's time for Kev to be on his own and for us to get back to our routine.

And Blackie is enjoying not being stepped on! ;)

Today and yesterday have been very laid back. Since Kevin needed our truck, we were “stranded” at home. Not one bit sad about it, either!

Until the next time . . .

Why Do We Make Plans???

It's often been said that we RVers make our plans in jell-o. Changes come most times because we find fun things to do that we hadn't planned on; other times it's because life throws a curve and we need to regroup.

Due to financial changes, we won't be able to travel this next year as planned. For those of you who have read the blog for awhile, this is going to sound familiar. We sat out during 2010 as well because of financial issues.

But, you know what? Even when we can't travel the way we'd like, this is still the best lifestyle going. In what other lifestyle do you have the flexibility to decide where to “hang your hat” that will be the most inexpensive for you? There is none. We can significantly lessen our expenses by sitting in one place which helps the bank account. You sure can't do that in a sticks & bricks.

So, we are grateful that we have this option and will take full advantage of it. Yes, we're disappointed we won't be able to meet up with friends as we'd thought. But, hopefully, there will be another time.

If you're going to be in southern Alabama any time between January and April, stop at the Escapees Rainbow Plantation – that's where you'll find us!

Oh, and thanks for your prayers and comments about my dad. His procedure went very well and the doctor believes this will greatly impact his quality of life.

Until the next time . . .

And the Hits Just Keep on Comin'

Yesterday found me back at WalMart! I have NEVER gone to WalMart this often in the six years we've been on the road. It amazes me that having just one more person in the house can make such a difference in how fast we go through groceries.

So, after a workout at Curves, I went to WalMart to pick up a few things. On the way out, Kev texted me asking me to pick him up to go to lunch. See, he's not using his truck until it gets fixed, so either he drives the truck to work or one of us takes him. Not a problem.

Kev got his lunch and I took him back to work and then I went home. About 4pm, got a text that it was time to pick him up. We ran a couple errands and came home so Kev & Randy could take the truck to the shop.

Well, wouldn't you know it? Kevin's truck wouldn't start – even with Randy using our truck to jump start it, it wouldn't turn over. Great. So, a call was made to a tow company and a few pennies (yeah, right!) later, the truck was on its way to the shop.

Today Randy finds a leak in the basement of the RV. YAY! Another something to deal with. He has valiantly tried to fix it, but nothing. Finally, he realized that the elbow connection has a hole in it. Really? How often does that happen? Anyway, at least we know what needs to be done. Just need to find the right part and get it done.

Also, my dad is in the hospital because he has been experiencing severe shortness of breath, to the point that just walking across the room is tough for him. It seems Daddy's been in atrial fibulation almost since his heart surgery back in May. Tomorrow he'll be having ablation which is some procedure that should put his heart into a good pace. We'll see.

Life has been a little exciting for us lately. Not exactly fun, but you know? There are many worse scenarios we could be facing. So, we just keep trusting God, knowing that He's got a plan.

Until the next time . . .

Disappointment

The weather was beautiful. Church service was pretty good. All was going well . . . until we got to IHOP. I'd seen that someone on Facebook had gotten pumpkin pancakes the other day. They are soooo good, so I told Randy I wanted to go to IHOP after church.

We pulled into the parking lot and got a space right away. Walked in, put our name on the list; just a 10 minute wait. So far, so good. Our name was called in under 10 minutes. YAY. Got seated and our server was there in less than five minutes. Oh, this is going well.

Ordered pumpkin pancakes. And here is where things went downhill – fast.

NO PUMPKIN PANCAKES!!

What??

I told our server that I had come specifically for them. She was so sweet and apologized. I quickly laughed and said it was not a problem, we'd just have to come back! Later on she came by the table to let us know she'd asked the manager when they'd have pumpkin pancakes and was told October 3. I told her we'd be here! :)

And then I gallantly ate my regular pancakes and eggs. I didn't even complain.

Wouldn't life be great if our toughest problem was no pumpkin pancakes? But, life does sometimes hand us a little more than that, so I sure am glad my God is bigger than all of it and He provides for me. Every time.

Until the next time . . .

Some Good News

Another lazy day for us. This is really becoming a habit! We did take the dogs for a walk around the campground. But, that was about it for me. Oh! I did take a run up to the post office to pick up our mail. That was about it for me. :)

Randy & Kevin didn't do too much else, either. Kevin did run a couple of errands. Randy washed up the dishes. But, other than that . . .

The good news is that Kevin was able to rent a site here at Acorns! We saw that the folks two sites down left this morning. So, Kev stopped in the office to see if he could rent it. He could and he did. YAY! Now, he just needs to pick up his RV from the dealer. It's getting its “once over” and should be ready for pick up sometime this week.

I am just thrilled for Kevin. He's starting a whole new phase of life. He's a homeowner and is going to be living on his own. We get to be here for support for the first six weeks, too. And this campground is so very inexpensive; just $325/month including electric. You don't find that most places. That will really help Kev out during the winter months.

Looks like things are going in a good direction for Kev. He did find out the truck needs some work, but that's being handled and he'll live through it.

All in all, life is good. And we give God all the praise and thanks for His constant provision.

Until the next time . . .

Just Another Day . . .

What can I say? Today was much like yesterday – including a trip to WalMart! Kevin had some errands to do so he drove into town with me.

We dropped off prescription refills at WalMart first. I have to tell you about Diana, the pharmacy tech. She provided me with great customer service. I had one prescription that needed my doctor's okay to fill 'cause I was out of refills. Typically, my doctor's office calls in to the local WalMart in York, PA and then I have it transferred wherever we happen to be. Well, it hadn't gotten called in yet and I was ready to drop off the other refills. Diana called my doctor's office to get the prescription! I was so impressed. I thanked her profusely and when I picked up the meds, I made sure I spoke to the pharmacist to let him know. I also told one of the managers of the store.

Too often we are quick to complain when we feel we've not been treated properly. But, we are not as quick to tell someone when they provide good service. I try very hard to let folks know when I am pleased. So, I did. :)

From WalMart, Kevin dropped me off at Curves and he went off to do his errands. I got a good workout and was ready when Kev came to pick me up.

Then, it was back to Walmart to pick up the meds and some groceries. I told Kevin I'm done with WalMart for the week!! I was there two days in a row. That's plenty. Of course, when we got home, I realized I had forgotten to get toilet cleaner. Ugh. Oh, well. I'll have to pick it up another day.

The rest of the day was spent in the usual way. TV, computers, a little napping. :)

Until the next time . . .

A Little Busier Today

We woke up to dreary skies, but no rain, this morning. After a hot cup of coffee and my quiet time, I got myself out and moving. First stop, Curves. I know I've said this before, but why does it have to be SO darn hard to get back in the routine of working out? Just missing a few sessions shouldn't make it feel like you've never worked out before! Ugh. Oh, well. It'll get better, I'm sure. I'll just keep at it.

From Curves, it was on the nail salon for my monthly pampering. I just love me a mani/pedi! :) And it was long overdue, too. After that relaxing hour, I took off for WalMart. Not so relaxing.

I so hate shopping – of any kind. But, money spent on groceries seems to be a waste. You have to buy the same things over and over. This was a bread, milk, eggs, etc., run. But, I was a bit hungry so I got a few other things, too. :)

With all my running done, I headed home. My guys were hanging out at the RV, just relaxing. So, I joined them. ;) And the sun came out this afternoon; the temps were in the low 70s. Doesn't get much better than that.

Made chicken divan for dinner. And now, we're watching TV. Man, I love my life!

Laziness Personified

The only thing of note I did today was to take dogs out in the rain this morning. Really, that's it.

We woke up to another rainy day, complete with thunder and lightning. It even hailed a bit later in the morning! As the weather cleared a bit, this was what the sky looked like:

Stormy sky

Very cool.

Other than my venturing out in the rain for all of 5 minutes, the day was spent watching TV and on the computer. Randy was right there with me. He even caught a bit of a nap. Oh, I did make dinner! That counts, right? :)

Until the next time . . .

Monday & Tuesday

Didn't get a chance to post a blog entry last night 'cause just as I was about to write it, Kevin decided he wanted to go to bed. Since his “bedroom” is the living area of the RV, that means Randy & I are relegated to our bedroom. So, I just shut down the computer and figured I'd give y'all a two-fer today. :)

Yesterday was fairly busy. Randy & I ran some errands in the morning. In the afternoon, the three of us went to Kevin's house to clear out the rest of Kevin's things. Of course, it was one of the hottest days in a while to do that. It was in the mid to high 90s!! Ugh. All of us were dripping with sweat by the time we had gotten everything out of the house and into the trucks. A trip to the storage unit and then we were on the way home. Done for the day.

And that “everything” included our three darling granddogs. Yes, we are now three humans and four dogs living in a 36' RV. Makes life interesting, to say the least.

This morning Randy & I took the puppies for a walk and then I got myself out the door about 8am. I finally got back to Curves and then it was on to the laundramat. Let me tell you, I sure am missing Rainbow Plantation where I pay just 75 cents to wash and 75 cents to dry a load of laundry. My final total today? $16.00! Oh, well. Gotta have clean clothes.

Spent the afternoon in the A/C which is so nice since the temps are still in the 90s. Not much else happening. Our evening will be spent as usual – computers and TV.

Tomorrow is gonna be a completely down day. I'm not leaving the RV. Really, I'm not!

Until the next time . . .

A Nice Family Day

The one day of the week that I know what day it is – Sunday! :) After a leisurely morning, the three of us got ourselves out the door in time for the 11:00 am service at First Southern Baptist Church of Junction City. Whenever we're visiting Kevin, this is the church we attend. Friendly, pretty good worship music, and always a good message. What else can you ask for?

From church, we went to the PX 'cause Kevin needed to get a haircut. Didn't happen – seems every other soldier at Ft. Riley decided he needed a haircut, too!

So, we figured we'd get something to eat and then go back to the barber. After trying a couple of places, we ended up at Cracker Barrel. Just shouldn't gone there first, it never fails us. :)

Fully sated from a good breakfast (at 1pm!), we went back to the barber. There were MORE people in there than before!! Kevin checked the number they were on and it was 59; the number he would have to take? 91! Needless to say, we left. He's off tomorrow, so he'll get his hair cut then.:)

We came on home after that and have been relaxing in the A/C since. We all have our assigned seats: Randy & I in our recliners and Kevin stretched out on the couch. It's funny how quickly we've adapted to the three of us living in the RV.

We're gonna have to do a bit more adapting too. Tomorrow afternoon we gain three more residents. Kevin's dogs will be living with us then. This is gonna be very interesting. But, it's something that needs to be done, so we'll do it. After all, a site has to come available soon, right?

Until the next time . . .

Busy Saturday

We spent the morning packing up a bunch of stuff from Kevin's house and taking it to storage. The most frustrating thing was trying to find the title to the vehicle that Kevin traded in on the truck. We never did find it and are hoping it's in the vehicle at the dealership. There's no reason for it to be there, but if not . . . Anyway, after getting everything into the storage unit, we headed home.

This evening we went out for dinner at a bar & grill that Kevin knew about. It was okay. Now, we're home and settled in the recliners for the night. I'm thinking there's some ibuprofen in my future – I'm not used to packing & moving! :)

Thoughts and prayers go out to the folks who lost family and friends in the vicious attacks nine years ago today. I pray that our country will get back to the attitude we had on September 12, 2001 – we were all Americans, one unit. It was a good feeling.

Until the next time . . .

Starting a New Phase of Life

That would be Kevin, not us. :) Those of you who have been following our blog know that our son, Kevin, is going through a divorce; therefore he has been seeking a new direction. He decided that he wanted to buy an RV and a truck and begin full-timing. Now, his full-timing experience will be much different than ours. He is a soldier, so he is employed and won't be traveling in his RV. However, since he does not own a stix & brix, he is a full-time RVer. :)

He found the RV that fits his needs last week. It's a beauty – a 2002 35' King of the Road fifth wheel. It's in great shape and will allow Kevin to keep his three, yes THREE, dogs with him.

Kev & his 02 RV P1120403 P1120407 P1120408 P1120409 P1120413 P1120411

Yesterday the hunt for the truck came to fruition. Kevin & Randy took a four and a half hour drive to Oklahoma to check out a truck Kevin had found online. (Gosh, I've not been alone for that long in years, I think!) It was everything he wanted and he was able to negotiate the price he needed. So, he is now the proud owner of a 2007 Dodge Ram diesel dually.

Kev & his 07 Dodge truck

All he needs now is an RV site to set up on! Sites are hard to come by right now, but he's on the waiting list for the campground we're in. We're hoping that something will open up soon.

Kevin is excited about the way life is shaping up for him. Many of you have been supporting Kevin and us with your prayers, emails and calls so I wanted to share this good news with you. Please continue to pray for us as Kevin continues to adjust to his new life. We appreciate each of you and are grateful to have you in our lives

Just Hangin’ Out

Yesterday morning we moved from Mill Creek back to Acorns, which is where we'll be until we leave this area. Was an uneventful 50 or so mile trip. Just like we like it. :)

Once we were set up, all three of us got showers and were back out the door to take an hour and a half drive south to McPherson, KS so Kevin could check out a truck he found out about online. He called ahead to be sure it was still there – it was. Unfortunately, once we got there, he found out that another buyer was interested in it as well. And the sales manager said the other buyer was first in line for it. Needless to say, Kev was not a happy man.

After a couple of hours of waiting to find out if the other buyer was going to qualify for financing, Kev was told the other buyer got the truck. It was a frustrating couple of hours because Kev was there, had the down payment and was ready to sign. The other buyer was at the dealer's other location and it felt like Kev was being jerked around. The owner apologized for the mix-up, saying it was a miscommunication that should never have happened. Ya think?

Anyway, Kevin is still in the market for a truck. But, I have to say I was very impressed with the way Kevin handled himself during the entire process yesterday. He never got ugly or lost his temper or acted like he was upset. After we left, he allowed himself to be frustrated and disappointed, venting a bit, but I couldn't blame him in the least.

Yesterday was also my first born's birthday! Lindsay is a fabulous daughter; no mom could ever ask for a more considerate, loving, daughter. I am grateful to have the privilege of being her mom.

Today has been more laid back. The three of us went to a local used Dodge dealer to see what they may have in stock. Unfortunately, there was just one truck on the lot, but it was out of Kev's price range. So, the search continues.

Tomorrow Randy is going on a road trip with Kevin to look at a truck Kev found at dealership in Oklahoma. Yeah, it's gonna be a drive, but there's nothing close by and Kev wants to check out all possibilities. I'm staying home. :)

Until the next time . . .

Oh, It Was a Three Day Weekend??

When you're retired, all you have is weekend! :) I often say the only way I know what day of the week it is, is to figure out how long ago Sunday was. That's really the only day of the week that is different for us. So, when everyone talks about a three day weekend, it's really just another day for us.

And yes. For those of you who aren't retired yet, I am rubbing it in! :)

We ended up staying at Mill Creek today because the wind was so fierce, Randy was concerned about traveling down the highway. The wind was coming from the south and we'd be traveling west so the crosswinds would have been brutal. We had no plans to be anywhere and the smartest thing to do was stay put. So, we did.

Kansas wind P1120399

As I write this, Randy just came in and said the temps have dropped dramatically. He opened the windows and the air coming in is so refreshing. After the 90* temps today, this is nice.

The only productive thing I did today was laundry. It was truly a chore today. In the hot temps, it was not fun. And there are only two washers and two dryers in the laundry room here, and I had four loads to do. So, it was back and forth several times and it was ugly. But, it's done now for awhile, so that's a good thing.

We'll break camp and move back to Acorns tomorrow. I know, I said that yesterday. But, I mean this time! Really, I do. :)

Until the next time . . .

Uh Oh. The Heat's Coming Back

Yeah, unfortunately, the respite from the heat is over and the AC is back on. Temps hit 90 today. Gotta admit, I really didn't miss that. But, very grateful for air conditioning. :)

We had a lazy morning; drinking our coffee, reading computer stuff, and watching Fox & Friends in the bedroom. Kevin is sleeping on an air mattress in the living room, so we're confined to the bedroom on the weekends when he sleeps in. :)

Once Kev was up and moving, he wanted to go back to the RV dealer to look over the King of the Road 5er once more. So, off we went.

That 5er is a beaut. Really great shape and very clean. After going over it again, Kev decided it's the one for him. So, he put a hold on it and pending financing, it's his. Very exciting. Now, he just needs to find a site for it. We're hoping something opens up at Acorns soon. Until then, he'll stay with us.

Next on the agenda? Finding a truck to tow the 5er! :)

We had a nice afternoon together. It's been kinda fun being with Kev again. But, we're praying he's on his own again soon – he needs that in order to move on with his life. God's gonna provide, I'm trusting in that.

Not much else to share. Tomorrow's moving day, again. Back to Acorns for the duration of our stay in Kansas.

Oh! Here's a picture of a “stowaway” we had the other day.

Stowaway in the bed of the truck

This little guy decided to take a ride in the truck and then hung around the site for awhile. What a hoot!

Until the next time . . .

Walking & RV Shopping

Randy & I started our day with a walk into the town of Paxico.

Paxico, KSNow, don't think we were all that energetic. From the door of our rig, “downtown” is little more than a quarter of mile down the road. :) Our reason for walking there? Breakfast. There's a small cafe in town that was advertised at the park and Randy figured we should check it out.

Ramblin' Rose CafeBreakfast was very good; eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, homemade biscuits and a drink. Plus, since we are camping at Mill Creek, we got 10% off our bill! Every little bit helps. And then, we had a nice leisurely walk home.

We spent the afternoon with Kevin while he shopped for an RV. He is looking for a used 5th wheel and we think we've found the one. Actually, I've been looking at this one online ever since Kev said that's what he wanted to do.

It's a 2002 King of the Road 35' 5th wheel and it's in great shape. We saw it in person today and it has been lovingly cared for, very clean and ready for a new home. Kev just has to check a couple of things and then he'll be ready to make an offer. Pretty exciting. :)

I wanted to take a couple of pictures our site, the town, and the railroad tracks that run right by the park, so Randy & I took another walk into town this evening. Yeah, I know. Two walks in one day, what's gotten into us?!?!!!

Another Move, Another Campground

Because our space at Acorns RV had been rented for the Labor Day weekend (prior to our renting it), we had to move for the weekend. Not really a big deal, but it would have been nice not to have to move. However, since we did, I hoped we'd find some place nice. After all, we were very late in making reservations for this big weekend.

Randy & I tossed around several ideas of where to go; there are lots of COE parks in this area. Then, I thought of Mill Creek, the campground where we were initially going to stay after moving from Topeka. I remembered them saying they weren't full for Labor Day. So, I gave them a call and, sure enough, they had space available for us.

After canceling our reservation abruptly last week, I am really glad to be able to give them some business, even if it is only for a weekend.

So, this morning, we broke camp and traveled all 50 miles east to Mill Creek Campground. And we are set up here until Monday. Not much planned for the weekend, just more laziness. :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Until the next time . . .

A Do-Nothing Day

Yeah, not much happening today. Which was kinda nice, I gotta tell you. I did get myself out to Curves this morning and that was good.

Once I was home, it was relaxing in the recliners all day. Very couch potato of us, yes. But, I was ready for it.

I did make a good dinner – chicken enchiladas. Yummy.

Tomorrow is moving day. Just for the weekend and then we're back here at Acorns. After that, who knows? :)

I do have to give a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! shout out to my mom. Love her!

Until the next time . . .

Another Month Begins

Life is off to a normal start on this first day of September.

Randy & I did our normal, first-of-the month errands – bank and big grocery run. Then it was back home to unload those groceries. I HATE that part of going to the grocery; even more than I hate doing the grocery shopping. By the time we get the groceries put away, separate meat or chicken and repackage them for freezing, I am whipped.

I don't know what it is about grocery shopping, but it beats me to death. My legs and knees hurt so bad by the time we get home, it's ridiculous. But, I get to sit down eventually for as long as I want, so how can I really complain?

Not much else to report. We found a campground to go to for the Labor Day weekend. It's Mill Creek, where we were originally going to camp before Acorns called. I'm glad we can give them some business since they were so great about making a place for us.

Until the next time . . .
