Last night Randy had the first of his three Pops Christmas concerts, this one in Bay Minette which is about 25 miles north of us. He said it was well-received and I'm sure it was. I can't wait until next Tuesday when I go to the last concert. Last year's concert was wonderful, so I know it will be a good time.
We finally got to go to the bank and the grocery today. We'd put off doing our first-of-the-month errands because the weather's been so nasty. And going to the grocery in the rain is just not fun. We were trying something new this month - going to WalMart in Florida. Pat had mentioned that there is no tax on food in Florida. Since we have to go to Pensacola once a month for our banking, it's an easy deal to do the big grocery run then, too. And there's a WalMart just down the street from our bank - convenient, huh? :)
Dick & Pat wanted to go with us, and since they have exercise at the Y in the morning, we didn't get on the road until 11am. We had a bunch of errands to run, too. Had to fuel up, go to the post office, the bank, the grocery, and get propane tanks filled. We finally got back home a little after 4pm. Once we got all the groceries put away, it was after 5pm! Whew.
We had a neat lunch, though. We stopped at the Roadkill Cafe in Elberta. This restaurant is so very unique. They are only open for lunch, which is a buffet, and stay open until they run out of food! That's it. And the place was packed. We got there a little before noon and left about 12:30 or so and the "closed" sign was up. They don't waste food, that's for sure. And it was all hot and tasty.
Until the next time . . .
I'm not sure I would have stopped at a place called The Roadkill Cafe. You're brave :-)
