24 Days

Yes, just 24 days until Christmas. More importantly, 24 days until I get to see my kids and grandkids. That trumps Christmas for me, I gotta be honest.

We'll leave Alabama on the 21st (our 24th anniversary, by the way) and have a layover in Winterville, NC at the home of our great friends, Dan & Debbie. They are always so generous in allowing us to use their home as a stopover. We'll spend that Monday and Tuesday night with them, then drive on to my folks' Wednesday. Christmas Eve we'll spend with our niece, Megan and her husband. My sister and her husband, Paula and Lou, will host Christmas Day. That night we'll drive up to Jason & Lindsay's for the remainder of the holiday week. Whew!

But, we've got 20 days until then, so we'll have to fill it up somehow. Do you think we can come up with something? :) I'm thinking so. On the Christmas music scene, Randy's got three Pops concerts coming up and I've got at one gig with JamNFolks next week. This weekend there are several Christmasy things to do and I am looking forward to them. I'm sure there'll be more as the month goes on.

Right now, because of the nasty weather, we are holing up in the rig. Well, I am; poor Randy had to go out to rehearsal. It has been rainy and damp all day and more is coming tonight and tomorrow. The damp chill just penetrates. Ugh. But, I am grateful to have a furnace that works and a warm blanket to snuggle up in! :)

Hope you're warm and cozy wherever you are! Until the next time . . .

  2. We have fresh sheets on the bed in the guest room. We plan to put up our Christmas tree this weekend and then decorate the house. Everything should be done before you guys get here. Can't wait to see you two. So much catching up to do!
