We finally got ourselves out of the house!! It was soooo past time for me to get out. I like being lazy and doing nothing, but after a couple of days, I gotta get out and do something.
The weather cooperated and we had a beautiful sunny day with temps in the 60s. That made it even more pleasant to take a walking tour around downtown Knoxville.
This tour centered around the music history of Knoxville. There were a lot of music “firsts” here that I was surprised to learn.

As we walked around town, we saw lots of beautiful autumn color lining the streets. That was nice because we haven't been able to do much “color watching.”
There are many buildings designated historic by a plaque on them with a “KH” denoting them as part of Knoxville Heritage.
We ended our walk in the Market Square which consists of several restaurants of varying styles, boutiques, and a green area. It is under some restoration which was good to see. The town is also in the midst of decorating for Christmas!
It was time for lunch so we chose Market Square Kitchen because of the specials offered. Randy had the pot roast special and I had the burrito special. Both were very tasty, good-sized portions and reasonable. It was cafeteria style, so no tip was necessary so the total was just $15. Not bad, not bad at all.
The day was very enjoyable. We always like walking tours, it's such a great way to learn about an area. There is so much more to do here but will have to wait for another time. It's always nice to want to come back somewhere. :)
