Dinner with Friends and a Sleepover

Monday we got to visit with Don & Joyce from our days at Ramblin' Pines Campground. This was the campground where we lived during the last six months of our working lives which were also the first six months of our full-timing lives!

It's always a treat to have dinner with them because Joyce is a fabulous cook! Plus, we enjoy their company so very much. You know how there's always a house in the neighborhood where people gather? Well, at this campground, that is Don & Joyce's site. During the week it's pretty quiet, but come the weekend - Don & Joyce's is the place to be. They personify hospitality. Needless to say we had a great evening catching up with them.

Yesterday after Curves, I joined Lindsay & Reagan for an afternoon at the pool; well, that was the plan. We did eat lunch at the pool and got about a half hour IN the pool and then the thunder rang out. Everybody came out of the pool as instructed to wait to see what would happen. More thunder happened! We decided to leave before the rain came and got back to Lindsay's just as the rain started.

Reagan was coming home with me to spend the night; so after transferring her carseat and other needed items to the truck, she climbed in and we were on our way to the campground. Then, the rains came!! We had a rainy drive home, but, thankfully, it cleared up as we got nearer to the campground. We were able to get into the RV before the rain hit again. Whew!

It is a pleasure having Reagan to ourselves once in awhile. And once in awhile is all we can handle! :) She is busy, busy, BUSY from the time she gets up until the time she goes to bed. But she is such a funny little girl with lots to say and we love being with her.

One thing she likes to do is take pictures. (Digital cameras are great! No wasted film.) Here are a couple of her pictures:

This morning we met Reagan's folks for breakfast at Bob Evans. After that we ended up going with Lins & Reagan to Chuck E. Cheese for Reagan to use up some tokens she still had from a previous visit. Man, that place is crazy! Kids of all ages running from one activity to another. Whoever thought up this concept was brilliant, though. It's a safe place to have fun with your kids.

We made a quick run through WalMart to pick up a few things and then it was time to take Lins & Reagan home. Once we were home, I collapsed in the recliner and promptly took a two hour nap! Think I was a little tired? :)

This evening I got the chance to catch up with my friend, Cheri. We hadn't seen each other since last year, with the exception of her triathalon in June. It was good to sit across the table from her, have dinner and talk. As I've said before, many times, that's the hardest part of this traveling life we lead - we don't get to see our friends as much as we would like.

Tomorrow we'll attend a memorial service for Jason's grandfather. Not much planned for the weekend. Gosh, could it be? Another quiet weekend? How nice.

Until the next time . . .
