Weekend Update

Yesterday we got together with friends we hadn't seen in a long time, at least socially. At one time all of us worked together at Grace Community Church - and most of them still do. Larry & Denise hosted the gathering; Denise having been the office manager at one time. I had held a couple different positions at the church, assistant to the lead pastor and then administrator of youth ministry. It was wonderful to get together with these folks and be able to catch up with them and what's going on in their lives.

Eating - what else do friends do together?

Today was a lazy day at home. We attended the church service held here at the campground. We've never done that before and it was nice. A retired United Methodist pastor gave the message and Greg, park owner, played the piano during the hymn. It was a small group, but a loving one.

The rest of the day has been spent reading and napping out in the screen room (me) and watching TV inside (Randy). The weather was gorgeous today - low/no humidity, sunny blue skies, and high 70s. Now, that's what I'm talkin' about! Perfect camping weather!

One more thing - as our son, Kevin, begins his year-long deployment in Iraq, we ask that you keep him and all of our military personnel as well as their families in your prayers. We know that God has His hand on Kevin and we are trusting Him for the future.

Until the next time . . .
