This morning I went to Curves like a good girl. Got back home and got my coffee and checked on my computer reading. Once I got my shower, we headed out to the WalMart for our first of the month grocery run. While there, I got hit with a migraine - UGH! Thankfully, it was as we were about to check out, so we got out of there fairly quickly. Once home, I got some medicine in me and settled quietly in the recliner, hoping it would pass.
Randy was great - while I was inert in the recliner, he put all of the groceries away AND fixed the lamp that got broken in transit yesterday. Have I mentioned lately what a great guy I married to? :)
The migraine began to ebb a tad, but wasn't going away, so I took some more meds. Don't yell at me - I always end up taking extra meds to get rid of migraines; that's just the way it is. We wanted to check out the ferry that goes to New Orleans, so I needed that headache to go away! We got some lunch and the headache dulled to a throb, so off we went.
We found the ferry parking lot with no problem and were prepared to pay the $5 parking fee, but there was no one around to pay. I was a little concerned about leaving the truck without paying, but there wasn't much we could do. So, we boarded the ferry. There is NO charge for walk-on passengers, isn't that amazing? It took all of five minutes to go from one side of the Mississippi to the other and dropped us off on the edge of the French Quarter.
I loved walking around, taking in the feel of the French Quarter. I could have sat at the Cafe all day! Just watching people enjoy themselves and the city. Can't wait 'til tomorrow when we'll venture even further in. Maybe I'll see Emeril! :)
