Beans, Beans, Good for the Heart . . .

We had a nice surprise this morning - Randy came back from walking Blackie and hollered in to me to come outside as quickly as possible. He wanted to show me this

Isn't it beautiful? Unfortunately, the pictures don't do it justice. We couldn't believe the intensity of the colors AND it hadn't even rained yet this morning. Such a great way to begin a Sunday. Seems like God was saying good morning. :)

We went to church this morning, as usual. Then, we had to run an errand as it is one of our nephew's birthday next Sunday. We had to get his present and get it in the mail. That done, we headed home.

The afternoon was spent in front of the TV watching the Olympics and napping. :)

This evening the park held its annual Flatulence Fest. Yes, it's a supper of bean dishes. As many folks as want to, bring a dish to share. Folks pay $3 each to sample all of the different dishes. I made a beef/bean taco dip. There were lots of soups and dips and even bean brownies! The money collected is donated to our local fire department. Appropriate, huh? :)

After the fest, it was time for the weekly ice cream social. Once folks got their ice creams and settled down, a couple of the acoustic music groups and other musicians in the park played for a couple of hours. There is a lot of talent in this park! My Wednesday afternoon dulcimer group played, too. Lots of good music and lots of fun. :)

Now, it's back to the Olympics!

Until the next time . . .
