Say Good-bye to February

It may be the shortest month of the year, but February didn't seem to go by too fast. Maybe it was because we were so busy, that we just went flow. No matter, it was a good month, full of fun and friends. Now, hopefully, March will be full of great weather!!

Speaking of busy, we had a heck of a busy morning/early afternoon. We left the rig about 9:30 so that we could stop and see Mike & Gerri before they pulled out. They were finishing up the breaking camp duties and we got our hugs and said our "see ya laters." I'll confess, there were a few tears shed, but Gerri and I didn't make fun of Randy & Mike for that! :) (Do you believe that? Really? Say, I've got this bridge . . .)

Of course, it's always easier to say good-bye when you've got a plan to see each other in just a few months! Mike & Gerri will be making their way to Maine this summer along with us and a few other couples for The Maine Event. Then, we found out that we'll be in Pine Mountain, GA at the same time right after Thanksgiving, so that's two plans! Now that I think of it, why the heck were we sad at all???? :)

After church, Randy and I made our way north to Bay Minette. The Jubilee Pickers had been invited to play for an event at First Baptist Church. But, first, the church was providing us with lunch. That was a good thing 'cause I am always starving after church! The event had a Mexican fiesta theme so we were served chili, cornbread, chips & salsa, and brownies for dessert. It was tasty!

Once our bellies were full, it was show time! We played for about 45 minutes and the folks seem to enjoy the music. They were gracious and generous with their applause and we felt very appreciated. More satisfied customers! Sorry there are no pictures, but my cameraman is now part of the band!

We got home about 2:30 or so and hit the recliners. I was ready for a nap! Unfortunately, that didn't really happen, just got about 10 minutes or so. We also watch Canada beat USA in overtime for the Olympic gold medal in hockey. Congratulations, Canada!

Now, it's time to rummage for some dinner. No ice cream social for us tonight. I think I hit my fill of socializing for the weekend. :) Plus, I don't want to get out of my nice, comfy jammies. :)

Ooooh! Tomorrow's the first of the month and you know what that means! Bank and grocery runs! Until the next time . . .
