Not Much to Report

I haven't had much to share with you over the past few days, so I haven't blogged. Just seems silly to write about nothing except us sitting around the RV.

Friday was cold, as usual. I went over to line dancing with Judy, but only lasted a half hour. Seems my knees are not cut out for those moves. They were on fire after just 30 minutes. Not sure why, but I guess it doesn't matter, they hurt. So, I left the clubhouse and took myself off to Curves.

Back home we just hung at the RV, watching TV, playing on the computer, etc., etc.

Yesterday I was up early and had two loads of laundry going by 6:50am. While I do not like setting an alarm, I do like getting the laundry room to myself and not having to jockey for machines. By 8:30 I was back home and getting a shower. :)

Randy & I had a gig with the Pickers at 11am. We were playing for a charity event to benefit the Sheriff's Boys Ranch located here in Summerdale. This is a great organization that gives boys from rough homes a chance to thrive. One young man who is about to graduate from high school spoke during the event. He told us that he came to the ranch as a freshman because his family was riddled with drugs and alcohol problems. He said he knew he'd never survive if he didn't get to live at the ranch. What a great kid! Now, he's going to college and plans to get a degree in criminal justice. He is the first person in his family to graduate from high school! Can you believe that? In the 21st century?? And this young man is just one of many who have benefitted from this organization. It was great to have just a small part in helping keep it going.

Last night we had an impromptu get-together with Darrell & Judy at their house. Eating appetizers, chatting, laughing. Yeah, that's a great way to spend an evening.

This morning we woke up to frozen pipes. We let the water drip last night since the temps were supposed to be in the high 20s, but I guess we didn't let it drip fast enough 'cause we had no running water this morning. Ugh. One of the less fun things of living in an RV in the cold. (Of course, it's not SUPPOSED to be this cold in the south!) But, we had water in the fresh water tank, so we survived.

We went to church, then out to lunch at Big Daddy's with Jim & Susan. This could become a nice habit. :) We really enjoy spending time with them.

We had an afternoon of beautiful sunshine. I even spent an hour outside in my recliner, reading. It doesn't matter that I was wrapped up in a blanket, does it? :) I still loved finally sitting outside in the sunshine!

Not much else happening. Since we are not fans of any of the football teams involved in the playoffs, we're getting caught up on some DVR'd shows.

Hope you had a good weekend!

Until the next time . . .
